Fujifilm DI-HL Dry Film for DRYPIX Smart Printer

The DRYPIX Smart dry printing systems use the photothermographic process, combining laser exposure and thermal processing. The photosensitive film, exposed to an ultrafine laser, uniformly heats through FujiFilm’s unique thermal technology.

Fujifilm DI-ML Dry Film for Mammography

The FujiFilm dry film is a key component of high-quality printing and performance in the DRYPIX series devices. Clear images with high resolution feature low minimum density and neutral tones, providing an alternative to traditional “wet” laser devices. FujiFilm offers films in various sizes.

X-ray Films

X-ray films are required for printing radiographic images. They come in various sizes and types, compatible with different equipment. FUJIFILM produces convenient, high-quality sheets compatible with all company X-ray equipment. The film is suitable for both wet processing and dry printing (depending on the series).

What is X-ray film

X-ray films are special sheets used to print radiographic results. They come in several types—some capture data directly during patient irradiation, while others print images using special printers.

Traditional X-ray film requires processing with special chemicals, hence it is also known as wet film or wet processing film. Film for printers is also referred to as dry film. It undergoes thermal processing to create a high-contrast image.

What are the features of FUJIFILM X-ray film?

It is believed that the image quality on traditional film is higher than on thermographic film. However, FUJIFILM technologies allow achieving high resolution and clarity of images on both types of sheets.

When capturing images on FUJIFILM equipment, ‘smart’ technologies for directing radiation and processing the final image are used in any case. Therefore, the print quality will be high in any situation. The price of X-ray film varies depending on its size, manufacturing technology, and the clarity of the final image. To avoid overpaying for consumables, it is recommended to study all types of film in advance and choose an option that is ideal for the equipment and examination purposes. All FUJIFILM films are compatible only with equipment from this manufacturer.

How to choose and buy X-ray film

For each FUJIFILM X-ray device, corresponding series of X-ray film are produced. The names of compatible sheets are always indicated in the user manual, which is also available for study on the manufacturer’s official website.

In total, FUJIFILM produces four types of medical X-ray film:

  • dry film;
  • X-ray film;
  • dental film;
  • mammographic film.

Dry Film

Dry film (film for dry printing) is used in thermographic printers. The image appears on it after thermal processing by a special thermal head. Dry film consumables are economical (no need for ink or cartridges for the printer) and can be easily loaded into the printer trays even in daylight.

The dry printing consumables series includes films:

  1. DI-HL — for printing regular X-ray images.
  2. DI-ML — with increased sharpness, suitable for printing mammography images.
  3. DI-HT — with increased transparency and maintaining high quality during long-term storage.

Thanks to noise reduction technology and “smart” computer processing, the image quality on dry film is almost the same as on traditional wet-developed medical X-ray film.

To understand how to correctly load the film into the printer, you can use the attached instructions (printed on each paper pack) or watch an instructional video online. Working with dry film is quick and convenient, requiring minimal manipulation — after loading the paper pack into the printer, it automatically takes the sheets, analyzes their thickness, and performs other necessary actions.

X-ray Film

Classic medical X-ray film from FUJIFILM stands out for its increased clarity and high contrast of obtained images. This category includes:

  • Super RX — for contrasty and clear images. The image quality remains consistently high with both automatic and manual processing.
  • SuperHR-U and Super HR-T — for general radiography. Allows obtaining fine-grained clear images even with an exposure time as short as 45 seconds (but also supports fast, low-speed, and manual development). HR-T is distinguished by increased resolution.

All films in this category are available in several sizes.

Dental Film

For creating dental X-ray images, the manufacturer offers two types of film:

  • Speed E — for rapid development. It features greater processing stability, and the image has a blue tint.
  • Speed D — with a low level of fogging.

Both types of film are characterized by high clarity, resolution, and contrast.

Mammographic Film

This type of product belongs to wet-developed films and is specifically designed for creating high-quality mammographic images. The series includes UM-MA films, the main advantage of which is an extremely high image density, allowing for a clear visualization of the breast tissue structure. In combination with a fast development speed (from 90 seconds), these film qualities enable precise and effective diagnostics.

To purchase the appropriate FUJIFILM X-ray film, verify its compatibility with the equipment installed in the medical facility beforehand. Compatibility is specified in the technical specifications of the equipment.

We will help you choose the appropriate film for any FUJIFILM equipment and purchase it at an advantageous price. To clarify the specific type of consumables and their prices, please contact us by phone or through the contact form on the website.
